Finding Your Way for Parents and Carers
Our Family Ethos
We are all about helping families understand their children's emotional world. It isn't about telling you how to be a parent, judging you, punishing you, making you feel inadequate or overwhelming you with more information!
It's about holding your hand through the process and providing emotional support for your child when they need it most:
'Supporting-cherishing-parents is central to caring for their children. Doing so makes emotional sense, functional sense, and economic sense; parents are the only resource that is never cut back. Moreover they are the architects of society; let’s value all parents and assist those who need help.'
Dr Patricia Crittenden, is a Developmental Psychopathologist Raising Parents (2016)
'Nothing can prepare you for being a parent; it tests your stamina, your nerves, your emotions and at times even your sanity! You start fretting over how to change a nappy, and before long you realise that that’s the least of your challenges. Then, just when you think you’ve got the whole thing cracked, they grow a bit older, start school and there’s a whole new set of issues to face. Along the way there’s sure to be plenty of frustration, angst, bewilderment and soul searching. But the path you are treading is well worn.'

Finding Your Way Books
Finding Your Way is our series of fun emotional picture books specifically created for children by psychologist and family practitioner, Kay Brophy. The books focus on the six core human emotions of happiness, sadness, fear, anger, disgust and surprise, all linked together by a map called 'Lifeland' at the front of each book.
Understanding core emotions is key to the child's journey to emotional intelligence. They are innate to all humans and are behind what motivates us to behave the way we do. If you’d like to know more, or if you have any questions please contact us.Buy the Books
